AGRO/ASCI 931 Population Genetics
This course essentially consists of an introduction to quantitative genetics. Course subjects and materials are primarily taken from Falconer and Mackey (1996) Introduction to Quantitative Genetics, 2nd Ed.
AGRO/STAT 932 Biometrical Genetics and Plant Breeding
Course covers biometrical methods used for the genetic improvement of quantitative traits in modern crop breeding programs. Three main modules will be taught: 1) selection theory; 2) estimation of genetic value and variance; and 3) QTL mapping and marker-assisted breeding, including genomic selection.
